Service on pension with a view to effecting retrenchment in the Registrar General's Office as recommended in paragraph 14 of my despatch No. 201 of the 4th September last.
Case A 4th September 1964
As this is virtually a case of abolition of office, I venture to strongly recommend for Your Lordship's favourable consideration the grant of a lump sum equivalent to 3 months' salary in addition to the pension which would have been granted had Inspector Horton retired in the ordinary course.
I may add that Inspector Horton has applied to be allowed to count 3 years extra service and has stated that he will be quite satisfied if his application is granted.
The usual paper of particulars is enclosed.
I have the honour to be, My Lord Marquess, Your Lordship's most Obedient Humble Servant,
William Robson
